Seven area residents were among 34 who were qualified by District Attorney James P. Goodman for the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program, which is reserved for first offenders who committed a non-violent crime.

Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program and imposed conditions. If they complete the program successfully their record will be cleared. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Matthew D. He also must make restitution of $4,86.85 to Matthew Ruch for damage to his truck and $837.49 to Michael Kunkle.Stephanie Barron, 29, of 120 Stock St., Nesquehoning, charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Anthony Stanell, with criminal attempt to cash forged check of Shauna Barron, her sister at WE R Cigarette Store. The check was refused by Ed Paperman, owner of the store, according to the police report.
