Ernest Spence, Seaman 2nd Class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Windsor Spence, Lansford, has been presumed officially dead, the Navy informed his family. He was aboard the submarine

U.S.S. Snook which failed to return from a mission to the South China seas a year ago. He leaves his parents, a widow, an eight year old son, and a two year old daughter. A brother, Howard Spence, who served in the Pacific during the war, will remain in the Navy until June 1947.
