'Touch of Broadway' held at St Jerome School

Hundreds of parents, teachers, and guests overflowed the gymnasium of the St. Jerome Regional School in Tamaqua Wednesday night to watch the school's first annual Spring Theatre Program called "Touch of Broadway."

All grades, K-8, participated in the program.The program consisted of a theatrical performance, dancing, choruses, solos and instrumentals. Paul Mulhern, music director and performing arts director, stated, "I am extremely proud of all the students." He also pointed out that these students have never had a program like this that builds confidence while it teaches students to perform in public.Mulhern and principal Mary Ann Mansell mentioned their appreciation to volunteers Craig Bulger and Spencer Bowden, as well as all the hard-working students, parents and teachers. The school is also offering a Summer Performing Arts Camp for any Tamaqua area students in grades 2-8.For more information, call 668-2757 or 952-2341.
