Borough officeThe office of Summit Hill Borough secretary Kira Michalik will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, May 30-31, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.OLOAA sign-upsRegistration for the 2011-2012 school year at Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, can be completed at the school office from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other arrangements can be made if this is inconvenient by calling the school office, (570) 645-7170 or 645-7101.Children registering for kindergarten must be 5 years old by Oct. 15 following the September when they enter school. First graders must be 6 years old by Oct. 15 following the September when they enter school.Parents are asked to bring the following information upon registering their child: birth certificate, Baptismal certificate, immunization records and $50 registration fee.Little AngelsLittle Angels Preschool, Lansford, is now accepting registrations for the 2011-2012 school year. Classes are held at the Our Lady of the Angels Academy school building and offer two separate programs.The 3-year-old program is half-day, two days a week, and the 4-year-old program is a full day, three days a week.The school also offers a school care program called ECP, which is available for OLOAA and preschool students that register separately for ECP. The bloodmobile setup will take place in the church.Graduation giftsThe First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (Branch 140, St. Ann Society, and Branch 46, St. Mary Magdalene Society), will award monetary gifts to its members who graduate from eighth grade and high school. The students must submit their name, address of member, name of school and date of graduation to the appropriate financial secretary: for eighth grade, Carolyn Bazik, 121 W. Bertsch St., Lansford, Pa. 18232; and for high school, Louise Dunstan, 210 E. Patterson St., Lansford, Pa. 18232.
