Jim Thorpe, historic seat of Carbon County and gateway to the resort areas of the Pocono Mountains, begins the summer season for touriss. Among the special events is the re-opening of the Cockroach Gourmet Restaurant, 25 Race Street, through Labor Day. Proprietor and chef Bruce Conrad has planned specials and as last year will exhibit arts and crafts of local and noted artists on the walls of his restaurant.
