Theft of copper piping probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating a theft incident at a former restaurant site.

Troopers said the old Carretero's restaurant, located along Interchange Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered sometime between May 17-19, according to the owner, who resides in Stroudsburg and was not identified by troopers.Once inside they removed copper piping and tools.Troopers also reported on two other theft incidents occurring in the same area..Joseph R. Greig, 44, of 250 Creekview Rd., in Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported someone entered his 2002 Dodge Durango while parked at his residence and removed a Garmin GPS unit and a power cord for a Ipod. The vehicle was unlocked. Estimated value of the items was set at $200. The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, and 5 a.m. on Wednesday.Michele Nesfeder, 36, of 230 Creekview Rd., reported her vehicle was entered and removed was an Ipod and a walkie-talkie radio while parked at her residence. The theft occurred sometime overnight of Tuesday into Wednesday.Arthur P. Bandanza, 52, of Box 1725, White Oak Drive, in Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported someone used an unknown type object and damaged a screen door and two screen windows on his home. They also damaged a section of indoor/outdoor carpeting at the home. Damages were estimated at $500. The incident occurred sometime between May 1-15.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
