Tire pickup

Tire pickup will take place on Saturday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to noon behind the borough garage. Tires with rims will not be accepted. This pickup is for Jim Thorpe borough residents only and ID's must be shown.Appreciation dinnerSt. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will hold a congregational appreciation dinner on Sunday, May 29, following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Members of the congregation wishing to attend, should sign up in the back of the church or by calling Walter Schlenner, (570) 325-8342, by Sunday, May 22. In attendance will be the Lutheran Bishop Samuel Zeiser.Community supperThis month's free community supper at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 4-6 p.m. The menu will be a barbecue-style picnic.
