The Carbon County Planning Commission recommended either approval or rejection of two proposed projects in the area.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the board voted to recommend conditional plan approval to a proposal from Stabler Development Company LLC, to Caron Associates LLC. The proposal calls for a subdivision at the intersection of Covered Bridge Road and Lower Smith Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township.Ivan O. Meixell Jr., county planner, explained to the board that the plan is part of the Blue Mountain Ski Area AT&T Mobility site and that the proposal is calling for an access road to the site.Meixell added that the plan lacks minor final plan requirements, which need to be addressed before the plan can go through.He then recommended conditional plan approval until those requirements are met.A second plan, submitted by Frederick H. and Natalie V. Brown, received conditional plan rejection from the board. The proposal calls for a subdivision at 58 W. Columbus Ave., in Nesquehoning.Meixell said the plan lacked final plan requirements of the Nesquehoning Borough Land Development Ordinances.He then read his recommendation, which stated, "The Carbon County Planning Commission, in reviewing the above subdivision noted existing structures on both proposed lots. However, as in past subdivision reviews, we regard the above submission as incomplete because of non-compliance with the minimum requirements of the Nesquehoning Borough Zoning Ordinance. We, therefore, recommend conditional plan rejection of this subdivision until the above conditions are addressed and adequately mitigated."
