Vehicle stop leads to charges

A vehicle stop in Lehigh County has led to the jailing of one person and charges against another.

State police at Fogelsville said troopers stopped a car along Interstate 78, in Allentown, about 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, for speeding. The vehicle was clocked at 89 miles-per-hour in a 55 zone.The driver was identified as Anthony Fiorenza, 54, of Waynesboro, Franklin County. Troopers said Fiorenza was acting erratically and was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance.A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Maurice Fiorenza, 58, of Irvington, N.J. It was learned he had an active warrant for his arrest issued out of New Jersey. He was arrested and placed in the county prison in Allentown to await extradition to New Jersey.Anthony Fiorenza has a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance pending, troopers added.
