Despite some reports to the contrary, attorney Joseph Matika won yesterday's election for Carbon County Judge.

The problem seems to stem from the Carbon County Bureau of Elections website, which has Matika's opponent, attorney James Lavelle, winning the Democratic side of the ballot.The numbers on the website are inverted.Matika won Democratic voting by a margin of 3,652 to 2,499.The website says Lavelle won by that total.To complicate matters, at least one Wilkes-Barre area television station reported Lavelle as the Democratic winner.Matika also won the Republican ticket, 2,309 to 1,888.
