Tamaqua Chamber announces lineup for Summer Concert Series

The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce has anounced the lineup for its popular Summer Concert Series. The concerts will all be held on the platform of the Tamaqua Railroad Station, from 6 to 8 p.m., on select Thursdays from June 2 through Sept. 22.

Shows are held weather permitting and are free to the public.The Restaurant at The Station has tables available on the platform for reservations for dinner and drinks the evenings of the concert, or people are welcome to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to enjoy an evening of musical entertainment.The Summer 2011 line up will be:June 2 - Fred Douglas, oldies (sponsored by AAA Insurance Agency)June 16 - The Wallace Brothers Band, country (sponsored by Longhi FinancialJune 30 - Steve Brosky and Jimmy Meyer, blues (sponsored by Mauch Chunk Trust Company bank)July 14 - BC Combo, blues (sponsored by The Restaurant at The Station)July 21 - It takes Two, top 40s and classics (sponsored by Cal's Tire and Auto Services)July 28 - Kathy Rimm, accoustic classic rock (sponsored by Tamaqua BPW and WMGH/WLSH)Aug. 11 - Wildcat, classic rock band (sponsored by ETA Benefits and Seitz Exterminating)Aug. 25 - Lizard Creek, Celtic (sponsored by Lehigh Natural Resources)Sept. 8 - Christopher Dean Band, blues and soul ((sponsored by Micah and Penny Gursky)Sept. 22 - Todd Wolfe Band, blues (sponsored by the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce)A project of the Tamaqua Area Chamber's Marketing Committee, this is the fourth season for the summer concerts at the station. The concerts are provided in part with funding from the Schuylkill County Council For the Arts (SCCA) as well as the generosity of sponsors.
