Senior citizens who would like to learn tips to protect themselves from danger are in luck.

A Senior Self Protection workshop will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Village at Palmerton. The workshop is open to the community, as well as families and residents of the Village.Jennifer Ebert, admissions and marketing director, said the senior self protection workshop will provide tips and techniques for people ages 55-and-over."It will be about protecting yourself when you are out and about with the things that you have on hand," Ebert said. "It is a great presentation for our community."Ebert said the tips will pertain to when seniors are out and about, in their homes, and in their vehicles. They are taught to utilize tools in their environment, such as chairs, canes and keys."Unfortunately, violent crimes can happen to anyone and anywhere," she said. "Hopefully this event can help make one less victim."
