The WELCA group of the Lutheran churches will meet on Tuesday, May 17, at 6 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. This will be the final meeting before the event, which is set for May 27. Parents wishing to volunteer some time for that event, may contact Anne, at (570) 778-5573.Tire pick upTire pick up in the borough will be held on Saturday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to noon behind the borough garage. All tires must be removed from the rims and this pick up is for Jim Thorpe residents only and IDs must be shown.Appreciation dinnerA congregation appreciation dinner will be held on Sunday, May 29, at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. It will take place following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Any member wishing to attend should contact Walt Schlenner, (570) 325-8342 by Sunday, May 22, or use the sign-up sheets located in the back of the church.Community dinnerThe next free community supper at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 4- 6 p.m. The meal this month, will be a barbecue picnic style.
