The Augustine sisters of Palmerton won first place in their respective categories in the Pennsylvania Make It With Wool competition which qualified them to enter the national competition to be held January 2011 in Reno, Nevada.
Stephanie, 14, placed 10th in the Junior division for ages 13-16. She is a freshman at Cedar Crest College in the honors program, majoring in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology.Gabrielle, 18, placed 5th in the Senior division, ages 17-24.She is a junior at Cedar Crest College in the honors program, studying a self-designed major of anthropology with a focus in archaeology and a writing minor.Their parents, Kathy and Raymond Augustine are really proud of their talented girls, who plan to continue making fashionable clothing out of wool for the next Pennsylvania state competition to be held in Somerset, Pa on Oct. 15, 2011.If interested in competing, contact Jodell Antram at 814-443-3189 or
