Wehr headed to Small College WS

Former Northwestern High School baseball player Adam Wehr is headed to the Small College World Series.

The freshman first baseman at Penn State Greater Allegheny hit a two-run home run in his team's Penn State University Athletic Conference tournament championship game to help beat Penn State Brandywine, 3-2. It was Greater Allegheny's third one-run victory in three days.Wehr and his teammates are headed to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, for the Small College World Series. The Lions are 28-10-1 on the season and finished their league slate at 18-1. They are the fifth seed for the tournament and face No. 4 Spalding University (Kentucky) in their first game.This marks Greater Allegheny's fourth straight trip to the Small College World Series.Wehr has played in 38 games this season. He is batting .330 with two home runs and is third on the team with 25 RBI.
