Bo Tkach Memorial Golf Tourney a huge success

The Fourth Annual Bo Tkach Memorial Golf Tournament was held last week at Blue Ridge Country Club and despite some cold, rainy weather at the start, it was another huge success.

The tournament, which benefits OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) and mental health awareness, raises money through golf sponsorship, plus silent and live auctions of sports memorabilia that takes place during the awards dinner.The first flight winning foursome was made up of Mike Zambelli, Ed Tierney, Mike Kuzy and Tim Ardos, who shot a round of 10-under par. Second place by a match of cards at six-under was Frank Harcey, Jerry McGinn, Leon Plocha and Ray Radomicki. Third place, also at six -under, was Tony Choy, Keith Fink, Butch Roman and Woody Saylor.Second flight winners with a round of 72 by a match of cards was Dan Frace, Mike McDermott, Jeff Kurtz and Mike McGuire. Finishing second with the same score were Eric Hockman, Michael Hockman, Buddy McMullen and Tony Testa.The guest speaker for the awards dinner was Clark Flatt, President and CEO of The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI).The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI) was founded in October of 1997 after the tragic death of Clark's youngest son, Jason, age 16, to the "Silent Epidemic" of youth suicide.Since its founding, JFI has grown to be one of the nation's leading non-profits addressing the national health problem of youth suicide.
