Weissport Council is serious about trying to be rid of a yellow 1997 Ford 350F dump truck.The truck was purchased in December 2008 at a cost of $7,500. The truck was never on the road because of one mechanical failure after another.Attorney Michael Greek said that council should consider contacting people who do salvage and let them know the truck is up for sale.Greek said that the truck should be sold as is to the highest bidder and that it didn't matter of the buyer's intent to put it back on the road or sell it for scrap metal.Council is hoping to advertise the sale of the truck and have bids open as soon as possible.Council also discuss levy maintenance. The board approved hiring a worker to remove trees stumps from the levy.Council also discussed purchasing a new lawn mower that will be used to mow the levy.Council also reviewed a police procedure policy in executive session with Police Chief Steven Mansueto. The policy will be adopted at the May 16 meeting.
