Spring Choral Concert in Tamaqua

The Tamaqua Senior High /Middle School Vocal Music Department will present its annual "Spring Choral Program" on Thursday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tamaqua Area Auditorium.

The concert will feature performances by the Middle School Chorus as well as the Senior High Concert Choir and the Jazz & Concert Chorale.The middle school chorus will open the program with "Glorificamus Te" followed by "Antiphonal Kyrie". They will then sing, "The Water is Wide" and close their set with "Good Riddance" (Time of Your Life) by the rock band Green Day.The Jazz Chorale will take the stage next singing a wide variety of musical styles and selections. The chorale will begin with the American folk classic "Shenandoah." They will then sing two jazz standards "Time After Time" and "Over the Rainbow". The women of the chorale will then sing "True Colors", a song made popular by pop icon Cindy Lauper. The men of the chorale close their portion of the concert with "Hey There Delilah/1,2,3,4 a medley of two songs made popular by The Plain White T's.The Concert Choir will close the program with "Bonse Aba" a rousing African folk song. They will follow that with "For the Beauty of the Earth" by well known British composer John Rutter. The choir will then sing "Seasons of Love" from the Broadway show "Rent". The concert concludes with the middle school chorus joining the Concert Choir on stage for the Glee version of "Don't Stop Believin'".The accompanists for the choirs are Steven Moyer, Julian Gerace, Erin Raymond, and Emily Zancofsky.The choirs are under the direction of John Buglio.Doors to the auditorium will open at 6:45 p.m.
