Tuscarora woman pleads to drunk driving charge

A Tuscarora woman was among six people who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin.

Allison Elizabeth Fernando, of 614 Wyoming St., on a driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) charge was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for five years include 120 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 per day fee, also pay a fine of $1,500, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient treatment and driver's license suspended 18 months. On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended was fined $500, disregarding a traffic lane and careless driving, fined $25 each plus $150 in costs.Fernando was cited by Trooper Mario Pompei when stopped in New Philadelphia.Jonathan D. Eichert, 22, Orwigsburg, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of arson endangring persons and to six counts each of criminal conspiracy, burglary and criminal mischief and was sentenced to serve 10 to 20 years in a state correctional institution with credit for having spent 48 days in the county prison.He and three others as volunteer firemen started fires in barns and vacant buildings in East Brunswick Township, West Brunswick Township and Wayne Township and then responded with other firemen to put out the fires.Eichert was ordered to pay $670,882.42 in restitution to the victims, including $250 to Jeffrey and Catherine Hill, of New Ringgold and $125,701.27 to their insurance carrier. He was cited by state police Cpl. Kevin M. Reichert.Tiffany Lee Kovalusky, 26, Shenandoah, on charges of criminal conspiracy and delivery of a controlled substance was placed in the IPP for two years and is to receive inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $100 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force who brought the charges.Brian Keith Kintzel, 47, Pine Grove, on charges of simple assault and recklessly endangering Holly Brosius and criminal mischief by smashing driver's side window of her vehicle was sentenced to serve 30 days to 23 months in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 25 hours of community service. Kintzel was cited by TrooperJohn Carr.Jessica Ann Oshman, 22, Mahanoy City, on a charge of simple assault on Sandra Kline was placed on probation for 24 months, pay a fine of $100, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 50 hours of community service. Oshman was cited by Mahanoy City Cpl. Michael Dissinger.Leshea Lee Heiser, 41, Pottsville, on a DUI charge was placed in the IPP for six months, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient treatment and driver's license suspended 12 months. Heiser was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
