Tamaqua sweeper continues Spring cleaning this week

The Tamaqua Street Department will continue its Spring cleaning of the borough's streets this week. Sweeping on Thursdays and Fridays will continue to have a start time of 5

a.m.in an effort to minimize traffic disruptions on the borough's Mani streets, with all other days' operations scheduled to begin at 7 a.m.This week's schedule will include: Tuesday, Columbia, East End Ave. to Mountain Ave.; Elizabeth, East End Ave. to Mountain Ave.; Riley Ave., Market to end; Mahanoy, Hunter to Coal; Rose, Pine to Lincoln; Vine, Pine to Lincoln.Wednesday, the sweeper will be found on Hazle, Greenwood to RT209; Rollinmg Mill Ave., Rose to Biddle; Sycamore, Pitt to Nescopec; Race, Bowe to Catawissa; Brew, Walnut to Locust; North Elizabeth, East Elm to Willing.Thursday's schedule will include: south side of Broad, Maff Motors to west borough line; South Railroad, Broad to Spruce; Center, Broad to south SR309 bridge; North Railroad, Broad to north SR309 bridge; Mauch Chunk, Pine to end; Biddle, Railroad to River and Greenwood to end; Franklin, Pitt to Washington; Lincoln, West Union to Rose.Friday's listed streets will include: north side of Broad, Maff Motors to west borough line; Mauch Chunk, Broad to Pine; Berwick, Broad to Rowe; Nescopec, Hegarty Ave. to Cottage Ave.; Pine, Cedar to north RT309 bridge; South, Bowe to Coal; Walnut, Chestnut and Locust, Schuylkill Ave. to end; North Railroad, Pleasant Row; Church, Columbia to Clark.Streets will be posted in advance and parking will be prohibited. Vehicles not moved from posted streets at least two hours before the sweeper starts operations are subject to ticketing and towing.
