Judge James C. McCready this afternoon gave the approval of he Carbon County Court to the petition of the County Commissioners to purchase the former Hooven Mercantile Building at 41 Susquehanna Street, Jim Thorpe, at a price of $10,000. The three-story structure is being purchased from Vincent D. McFadden, local real estate agent who represents the Focht Estate, the present owner. Commissioner John A. Marzen said the first floor will be used to store about 40 automatic voting machines. The second floor will house offices of County Superintendent of Schools Stuart E. Prutzman.
