Theft incidents

State police at Lehighton are investigating several theft incidents.

Troopers said the theft of 1,000 feet of welding cables is being probed. The incident occurred at the Weld Services, located along SR209, in Gilbert, Polk Township, Monroe County. The cable was removed fro a rack that was located behind the business. It was taken sometime betwen April 15-21, troopers said. No value was listed for the cable.Jeremiah Thomas, 33, of Saylorsburg, reported a Remington 300 Win mag model 710 shotgun was removed from his unlocked Dodge Neon while parked at 3504 S. Chestnut Drive, in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County. The theft occurred sometime betwen March 30 and April 27. The gun bears serial number 71235875.Norman Heft, 51, of Lehighton, reported his fishing pole was stolen while he was fishing in a wooded area to Ampal in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. The theft occurred sometime between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27.Troopers said a suspect vehicle is described as a white pickup truck with large "mud" tires and has a lift kit on it. Two white males, believed to be in their 20s, were also seen in the area.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
