Methodist ChargeThe service schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, May 1, is as follows:Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church.The Rev. Burgess Gordon will officiate at both services. The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.Borough councilThe monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Borough Council will be held on Monday, May 8, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Joseph Weber, president, will be in charge of the session.Absentee ballotsThe 2011 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 17, in Carbon County.Persons wanting to vote by the absentee ballot process are reminded the deadline for applying for an absentee ballot is May 10.Persons interested in an application can contact Billy O'Gurek Jr. or Nathan Halenar, president of the Jeffersonian Democratic Club, Summit Hill.CoaldaleHorseshoe LeagueThe West Ward Rod and Gun Club, Coaldale, is making plans to hold its annual horseshoe league.The league will hold a get-together to select teams on Tuesday, May 3, at 6 p.m. at the club.
