Tamaqua man among 20 to enter guilty pleas

A Tamaqua man was among 20 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin.

James Joseph Englert, 34, of 227 Lafayette St., for a number of criminal charges was sentenced to serve 23 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) which will include five months of home confinement with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee and serve the balance of the total sentence under strict supervision of the adult probation department. He received credit for eight days in prison.He was also ordered to pay $150 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA); a fine of $100 for criminal mischief to a log cabin owned by Richard George, 478 Pine Valley Road, New Ringgold, make restitution of $350 to owner. For theft of personal property serve an additional 23 months on probation. On a charge of disposing of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) obtained illegally was given a concurrent 23 months probation sentence and make restitution of $1,239 to Ronald Troxell, of 74 Sycamore Lane, New Ringgold. Englert was cited on all charges by Trooper John Sieboda.His total sentence is 23 months in the IPP plus an additional 23 months on regular probation. On a charge of receiving scrap metal stolen from Bell Corporation in Schuylkill Township he received a concurrent 23 months probation sentence.Christopher Michael Cataldi, 22, Saint Clair, formerly of Cumbola, on a charge of simple assault on was given credit for serving five days in the county prison and was released on parole for 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and $50 to district attorney's office for a bench warrant. He was cited by Saint Clair Patrolman Chad H. Seitzinger.He previously was placed in the Accelerated Rehabiliative Disposition (ARD) probation rogram which was revoked.William Vincent Clements Jr., 19, Coal Township, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (CS) was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. The sentence is to begin when he completes a sentence imposed by Northumberland County Court. Clements was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene M. His sentencing was deferred to Thursday, June 30.Brittany N. Fisher, 45, Schuylkill Haven, on a charge of DUI was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison but received credit for serving five days and was granted immediate parole, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), enroll in alcohol highway safe driving school and receive outpatient treatment. On a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Hasara was cited by Trooper Thomas Powell on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.Raymond Jordan, 28, Shenandoah, on a charge of a bomb treat at Burger King Restaurant in Shenandoah, was given credit for serving 29 days in the county prison and granted immediate parole and serve 23 months probation. Jordan was cited by Patrolman Michael O'Neill, who reported Jordan made a telephone call to the restaurant claiming there was a bomb on the premises which caused an evacuation.Kevin William Kintzel, 22, Port Carbon, on a charge of theft from a motor vehicle was placed on probation 18 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Trooper Thomas Hornung who reported Kintzel entered several cars in the 200 block on Coal Street, Port Carbon. He previously had been in the ARD program which was revoked.Deborah Ann Kramer, 44, Minersville, on a charge of passing a bad check to Minersville Borough was fined $200. She was cited by Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers.Meda L. Marshall, 62, Shenandoah, on a DUI charge was placed in the IPP to serve a period of 15 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 per day fee and serve four months and 45 days on probation, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, perform 10 hours community service, complete safety school, receive intensive outpatient counseling. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was sentenced to serve an additional 12 months on probation. Marshall was cited by Shenandoah Lt. Gary Keppel.Kurtiss B. On a charge of misbranding a controlled substance was given a 12 months probation to run concurrent; involved in accident damaging a parked vehicle on Sweet Arrow Lake Road in Pine Grove Township, was fined $300 plus $50 costs, disregarding a traffic lane, fined $25 and $50 costs and failing to drive at safe speed fined $25 plus $50 costs. Pickett was cited by Trooper Eric Revber.On a charge of theft from a vacant home in Schuylkill Haven has to serve an additional 12 months on probation and pay $50 to CJEA. The citation was issued by Patrolman Kenneth A. Jacoby.Mack Quiteh, 52, Tobyhanna, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison but received credit for spending six days in prison and was released on parole, fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 12 months. On a charge of driving without a license was fined $200 plus $50 costs and for public drunkenness was fined $25 and costs. Bowers.Robert Andrew Vandaley, 27, Pottsville, on a charge of DUI was sentenced to serve six months to five years in the county prison beginning Friday, April 29, at 5 p.m., fined $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, receive intensive outpatient counseling and license suspended 18 months.
