Becker receives the only run he would need in the second inning when singles by Mike Saus, Francis Pillar and Ted Haldeman produce the game's first run. The Nesquers, coached by Bill Griffith, receive an insurance run in the seventh frame when Raymie Bonner triples and scores on a groundout. Pillar and Lee Richards both end with two hits for the winners.
