Four cited for Tamaqua incident

Tamaqua police have cited three men and a juvenile following an apparent drinking party at Kellner's Dam on Tuesday.

Officers were dispatched to the popular fishing spot at 12:57 a.m. and observed four males congregated in the area of the concession stand. The officer also found five unopened cans of Milwaukee beer, two empty beer cans and an empty can of Colt 45 malt liquor on the ground. In addition, he observed two beer cans floating in the water.All four males were transported back to the station.Christopher Miller, 22, of 235 E. Ridge St., Lansford, admitted throwing the cans in the water. He was cited for criminal trespass, possession of alcohol in the presence of a minor and littering a body of water in the commonwealth.Michael Mattox, 19, of Manville, N.J., and a 14-year-old Tamaqua male were cited for criminal trespass.Austin Hyland, 19, of 322 E. Snyder Ave., Lansford, was cited for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
