State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 11:26 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, in the area of 147 Tremont Road (SR125), in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Derick Fidler, 24, of Tower City, and Scott Miller, 44, of Tremont, were both traveling north during a heavy rainfall and gusty winds. As a result of weather conditions a tree along the west berm began to fall. The tree landed on telephone wires and began falling toward the roadway.Miller applied the brakes on his 1993 Plymouth Voyager to avoid the falling tree. Fidler, driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, also applied his brakes upon seeing the vehicle in front braking.Troopers said the Sonata slid on the wet roadway and into the rear of the Voyager. The impact forced the Voyager about 21 feet through tree branches and eventually into the guiderail along the west berm where it came to rest. The tree came to rest on top of the phone wires and on top of both vehicles.Fidler and his passenger, Yvette Fidler, 21, of Tower City, were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Miller was not injured.Damages were moderate to both vehicles, troopers added.
