Slatington driver facing DUI count

A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:42 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, along KIngs Highway (SR100), in Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Adam C. Vogel, 21, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound when the car went off the road while he was negotiating a right curve. The front end of the car struck a fence. The vehicle went through the fence and into a field where it struck a tree and came to rest.Vogel was not injured. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.Troopers also reported on another DUI arrest.About 3:45 p.m. on April 15 Andrew V. Piscitelli, 52, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2006 Ford F250 northbound on Owl Valley Road, in the area of Hummingbird Road, in Lynn Township, when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck hit loose cinders which caused Piscitelli to lose control. The truck went onto the berm and struck a tree.Piscitelli was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Northwestern ambulance. He was found to be under the influence and was arrested for DUI, troopers said.
