Coaldale man gets jail time for resisting arrest

A Coaldale man was among 14 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County Court and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin.

Paul David Weirich, 23,of 105 Miner St., on a charge of resisting arrest was sentenced to serve 45 days to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 25 days, pay a fine of $100, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, and $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). He reported to the prison Tuesday, April 26, at 10 a.m.On a charge of disorderly conduct he received a concurrent sentence of 12 months probation and for public drunkenness was fined $25 and costs. Weirich was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse.He also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in the parking lot of St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale. He was sentenced to pay a fine of $100, pay $100 to SAE fund and $50 to CJEA, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and received a 12 months probation sentence to run concurrent. He was cited by the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.Susan Patricia Russell, 52, of 282 Wood St., Cumbola, Blythe Township, on a charge of simple assault on Keith Butcavage who suffered stab wounds, was given credit for serving 215 days in the county prison and was released on probation for 23 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. Russell was cited by Trooper James Cuttitta.Tammy Marie Bugdanavage, 35, Pottsville, on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) probation program for six months including 15 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay $12 per day for the hookup. She also must pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), complete the alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient counseling and her driver's license is suspended 12 months. She was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Richard Pugh.Michael Alan Goetz, 29, Shenandoah, on a charge of criminal trespass on property of Red and White Market, Nort h Manheim Township, was given credit for serving 25 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $263.84 to the store. Goetz was cited by state police Cpl. Rahn A. Richards.Robert A. Hamm Jr., 29, Minesville, pleaded guilty to 10 access device frauds and was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison and on one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition of moveable property was sentenced to serve an additional two years on probation. His sentence began Wednesday, April 27, at 9 a.m. Hamm was cited by Trooper Thomas Robin with taking a bank card belonging to David P. Shevokis, who resides along the Port Carbon Highway in East Norwegian Township to whom he has to make restitution of $206.Teisha Kull, 19, Pottsville, on a charge of theft of debit card was placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $1,710.50 to Richard and Diana Kull, Saint Clair. She was cited by Saint Clair Patrolman Martin Sterner.Robert Meek, 55, Pottsville, on a charge of careless driving was fined $50 and cost. A charge of DUI of drugs was nol prossed. Meek was cited by Trooper Alyssa Becker on Thwing Street in East Norwegian Township.Eric Richard Myers, 40, Pottsville, on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was sentenced to serve 15 to 30 days in the county prison, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA.John Thomas Nocero Sr., 53, Auburn, who pleaded guilty to three counts of giving unsworn falsifications to authority was placed on probation for three years, and pay $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Trooper William Derbes.Devone Marchone Price, Saint Clair, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Saturday, May 7, at noon, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, receive intensive outpatient treatment and license suspended 12 months. Carey.Sammy Jo Rohrback, 24, Schuylkill Haven, on a charge of theft was placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $1,500 to David and Violet Viars, Saint Clair.Van David Versay Jr., 24, Minersville, on a charge of robbery of a grocery store was sentenced to serve five to 10 years in a state correctional institution with credit for serving 119 days and make restitution of $2,769.45 to Penn Miller's Insurance and $250 to Rodnick's Grocery Store, Minersville.Jessica Gina Ali, 26, Shenandoah, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (CS) was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 10 hours community service, make restitution of 113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $50 to state police at Reading. Ali was cited by Trooper Charity Farrell.Nereida Arroyo, 50, Mahanoy City, on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was placed on probation 30 days, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. Arroyo was cited by Mahanoy City Patrolman Jonathan McHugh.Jerry Lawrence Beach, 35, Llewellyn, Branch Township, on a charge of obstructing the administration of law was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. On a charge of driving while license was suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Beach was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
