The theft of a $2,500 tractor mower owned by Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in New Columbus, and taken from the Gate of Heaven Cemetery there, brought this statement from pastor Monsignor Agnello Angelini: "If the people who stole that mower don't bring it back or make good (pay) for it, I am going to ask God to have the people buried there haunt them." He added, "And that goes for the vandals, too." He said, "You can't tamper with sacred ground where people are sleeping in peace, awaiting the Resurrection."
