The medical staff at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, was introduced to a new concept for transferring burn and trauma victims to more advanced facilities. According to a program explained to the medical profession, transportation to such hospitals as the Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital Center might, in the very near future, occur by helicopter. The new concept was explained by Dr. Walter Okunski, director of the burn unit of ASH, and Dr. Michael Rhodes, traumatologist at ASH.
