7th annual Asher Boyer Bowl

Six person teams are now being gathered for the 7th annual Asher Boyer Bowl that will be held on Saturday, April 23, at the Slatington Bowling Center, 8123 Route 73, Slatington.Individuals and teams are welcome to bowl. Two sessions will run from 6-8:30 and 9-11:30 p.m.Proceeds from the Bowl go to the Asher F. Boyer Endowment Fund for Future Education, which has benefited many organizations that Asher was involved in and individuals from around the area.For more information, contact: Chris Craig at

goldboy15@aol.com, or (610) 554-8597.High school/Community sports photos neededNorthern Lehigh Future Focus will be publishing a photo-book on Slatington/ Northern Lehigh High School, community sports teams and players later this year.Future Focus is asking for the public's help. Organizers are seeking old photos or copies of photos, which they can borrow.The book will include photos from the earliest days of organized school and community sports up through the present. Especially of interest are old team and individual photos up through the 1970s.It is hoped that the finished product will be a comprehensive photo history on the area's sports teams, and be a great keepsake for all ages.Please consider letting Future Focus borrow your photos to include in the book.The book will be separated by decades, and include the high school sports of football, basketball, baseball, wrestling etc. Star player, exceptional team and legendary coaches' profiles will also be included, as well as photos and information on the many community baseball teams the area had in the 1930s and 1940s.Additional help is needed in research, writing and layout.Persons with these skills, those who are interested in helping in any way with the project, or those who have photos to share are urged to call Robert at (610) 767-7626 or Marilyn at (610) 767-5817.
