Weight Watchers comes to Tamaqua

In an effort to make it easier and more convenient for people in the Tamaqua area to lose weight, Weight Watchers of Philadelphia Inc. has announced it is opening a new meeting location in the Scheller Student Center on the Morgan Center campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College. The initial session is scheduled for April 26 at 11:30 a.m. Express Meeetings will then be held every Tuesday, from noon to 1 p.m.

"We have received so many requests for additional meeting days and times in this area that we decided to accomodatethem with a new, convenient location and time slot," offers Marilyn Price Birnhak, president and founder of Weight Watchers of Philadelphia Inc.Weight Watchers now features the new PointsPlus Weight Loss System, which takes into account all of the components that make up calories, including proteins, fat and fiber, then factors in the conversion cost of processing these components in the body. Some nutrients require more energy to process than others. Protein and fiber, for example, require more energy to process than fat and carbs.
