Pleasant Valley wins Sixth Sense title

Sixth Sense moderator, retired school teacher, Janet Kern said the competition started 22 years ago and she has been serving as the moderator for the past few years.

This year Panther Valley School District served as host school with Mark Lavine as the coordinator.To be selected for Sixth Sense is quite an honor. On the first day of competition, Pleasant Valley won over Northwestern Lehigh, Palmerton over Jim Thorpe, Panther Valley over Northern Lehigh, and Lehighton over Tamaqua. As each team then competed against the other teams, the final night (Thursday night) saw Panther Valley and Jim Thorpe go head to head with Jim Thorpe winning the match. Then Jim Thorpe competed against Pleasant Valley with Pleasant Valley winning the grand championship in a final score of Pleasant Valley 76 and Jim Thorpe 55.Pleasant Valley has won the championship in previous years. On Wednesday Jim Thorpe won the fourth place trophies. The final second place trophies also went to Jim Thorpe, and Panther Valley received the third place trophies.
