April 15, 1957 Lehighton's team of Tom Rehrig, John Ronamus, Austin Blew and Ron Elsasser wins the 4/5-mile relay to gain a 49-46 victory over Nesquehoning. Rehrig also breaks the tape in the 100 while the Indians receive firsts from Sterling Frey (mile) and Herb Werner (high jump). Three Lehighton pole vaulters - Carl Everitt, Dick Haberman and Keith Fritz - tie for the top spot in that event. For the Nesquers, Fritz Ferko takes both the shot put amd discus.
