Look Good, Feel Better

The American Cancer Society will host a Look Good, Feel Better makeover workshop from 4-6 p.m., April 18, at the Simon Kramer Institute, 15 Alliance St., New Philadelphia.The session is free and open to all local female cancer patients actively undergoing cancer treatment.During the session, trained cosmetologists will meet with patients to discuss ways of using makeup and accessories to minimize appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.Look Good, Feel Better is offered in a group setting, providing participants with cancer education, information and support.Each woman will learn to apply makeup, using kits provided through the American Cancer Society's partnership with the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association and the National Cosmetology Association.Seating is limited, so registration is required. The event was held in the Rush Township Municipal Building and collected 22 units of the "gift of life."While the target goal was 24 units, organizers declared the event a success and hope to make the bloodmobile an annual event.Calvary UMThe Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at the Palm Sunday 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church.
