DUI arrests in Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe police reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers.

On Jan. 13 at about 11:41 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of 321 W. Broadway for a one vehicle crash. On scene the driver involved in the crash was identified as Anthony John Naimon III, 42, of 40 Ash Drive, Jim Thorpe. Naimon showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests.He was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton, for a blood test. The test results showed he was over the legal limit. In addition to the DUI count, Naimon was also charged with careless driving as the result of the crash.On April 4 about 10:40 p.m. a three vehicle crash was reported in the area of 300 W. Broadway. According to police Ryan J. Rymdeko, 22, of 22 Chippewa Trail, Jim Thorpe, was westbound operating a 2000 Mazda sedan when he lost control while coming out of a left curve. The car struck a parked vehicle which caused a chain-reaction pushing it into another parked vehicle.Rymdeko was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. Police said the DUI charge is pending the test results.
