Over 60 Club

At noon, Tuesday, April 19, the Over-60 Club will meet at the Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Ave. The program will be presented by Dan Kunkle of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.Lions ClubAt 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 18, the Palmerton Lions Club will hold a dinner meeting at the Fireline Hotel. The speaker will be PID Robert Miller about Eye Research and Sight Conservation.For information about the Lions Club, call Nick Hawkey at (610) 826-6465.Jerusalem UCCJerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, will hold Maundy Thursday services in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m., April 21. Bring finger foods to share.Good Friday services will be held at 7:30 p.m., April 22, in the sanctuary.Easter Sunday services will be at 9 a.m., with Holy Communion. There will be no Sunday school classes.Knitting ClubThe Knitting Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library at 6 p.m., Monday, April 18. All area residents interested in knitting, crocheting, and other crafts are invited to join the group. New members are always welcome.Egg HuntsAn Easter egg hunt will be held at the Palmerton Memorial Park grove at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 16. The rain date will be the 17th at 3 p.m.An egg hunt will also be held in the borough park at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 16.Miller Keystone BloodmobileMiller-Keystone's bi-monthly community bloodmobile in Palmerton, held Monday, April 11 at the First United Church of Christ's Fellowship Hall, drew 76 potential donors, and 68 units of blood were collected.Donors reaching or exceeding various gallon levels included George Ashman - 27 gallons; Thomas Lager - 9 gallons; Mary Ann Shafer - 3 gallons; Cynthia Reitz and Janice Stroup - 2 gallons; Michael Shafer and Robert Stevenson - 1 gallon. There were six first-time donors. This visit was sponsored by Shea's Hardware.Volunteers included Harry Brown, "Biff" Hayes, and CLIU students Tyler Bilofsky, Corey Kleppinger and Eric Schoenberger.Volunteers also included Arlene Dombrosky, Shirley Neff, Helen Nonnemaker, Perma Snyder, Trina Ely, Carol Papay, Pam Andrews, Mary Beth Beers, Romaine Biege, Jane Cervenak, "Honey" Cyr", Trina Ely, Thomasine Falcone, Jean Fritzinger, Rita Goidich, Shirley Greene, Jean Halmi, Anita Harry, Betty Hartman, Cindy Heimbach, Marian Hoffner, Bernice Kleintop, Nancy Kresge, Audrey Larvey, Paula Lendvay, Cecelia McLaughlin, Helen Nonnemaker, Darlene Nothstein, Susan and Chris Olivia, Evelyn Plechavy, Marge Porambo, Terri Sebelin, Betty Steigerwalt, Kathy Steigerwalt, Dorothy Strohl, Mary Taschler, Mary Tobia, Tara Wargo and Brenda Wentz.The next Miller-Keystone Palmerton community bloodmobile will be on Tuesday, June 7.
