Businesses cited by liquor board

Two Schuylkill County businesses were cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violations of the state liquor code.

Robert H. Anderson, trading as Charlies, 102 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, was cited for possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises. The violation occurred on Dec. 8, 2010, the board states.Roman's Lounge and Catering Inc., also known as Roman's, 101-103 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, was cited for used, permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard outside. The violation occurred on Jan. 11, the board states.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
