The Tamaqua Area School District will have a make up day for kindergarten registration for the 2011-2012 school year. The district is offering this opportunity to parents/guardians of kindergarten age children who missed the March session.The make up day will be held May 24. To schedule an appointment, call (570) 668-3306, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m.DARE graduationDARE graduation will be held April 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the Tamaqua Middle School Auditorium.This year's guest speaker will be James Warren, whose topic will be "Magic With a Message."The public is welcome to attend.Lenten serviceThe Tamaqua ministerium will sponsor a series of free community Lenten services leading up to Easter. The services will begin at noon and will be followed by light luncheons.Upcoming services and locations will be: April 13, Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St.; Community Good Friday, April 22, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St. The Good Friday service will not be followed by a luncheon.St. Jerome'sSt. Jerome's Office of Adult Formation will host a free coffee and donut session on April 17, Palm Sunday, from 9-10 a.m.New catechists are needed for the parish religious education program in the fall. Classes are held Sundays, from 9 to 10:15 p.m. Anyone willing to volunteer to teach the third or sixth grade class may call (570) 668-4416.Registrations are now being accepted for the 2011-2012 school year, from 3- and 4-year-old pre-school classes through eighth grade. The service will be followed by a coffee hour. Confirmation, First Holy Communion and Sunday school classes meet at 10:30 a.m.Activities for next week include: Monday, Church Council meets at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Learning Ministries Committee meets at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, midweek Lenten service at 7:30 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church; Thursday, Chime Choir meets at 5:30 p.m., Angel Choir rehearses at 6 p.m., Shepherds at 6:30 p.m. and Praise Choir at 7:30 p.m.First MethodistThe Rev.
