A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI) and fleeing police, following an incident that began about 1:37 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, along Peach Mountain Road, in Norwegian Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at the above location after the vehicle swerved into the oncoming lane.The vehicle's driver then accelerated the speed of the 1986 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck and went southbound entering into Pottsville. The driver then crashed the truck into a parked Dodge Nitro Sports Utility Vehicle and fled on foot. Troopers continued to pursue the driver on foot and eventually caught him and took him into custody.He was identified as Kyle Joseph Castellano, 19, of Pottsville.In addition to the DUI and fleeing or attempting to elude police charges he is also facing a charge of possession of drug parphernalia after a pipe used for smoking marijuana was found on him, troopers said.
