Fire training

Live fire training will be held in Lansford by the firefighters on either April 9 or 10 and will cease around 5 p.m.The training will take place at the Dock Street Training Grounds in Lansford.Area residents may experience some smoke from the training.Golden AgersForty members of the Panther Valley Golden Agers attended the March meeting. President Ronnie Bazik opened the meeting with a prayer "Thankful for Each Season."Ten members were present for the January, February, and March birthday occasion. Provaznik Flowers donated the centerpiece.Therapist Joe Paluck MS from Wellness Rehab of St. Luke's Miners Hospital gave a presentation on preventing heart problems and bone fractures. The importance of exercise and proper nutrition was stressed.The next meeting will be held on April 11 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Hall in Summit Hill. The meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m. President Robert E. Ames, will preside.On Tuesday, April 26, the Lions will meet again in a joint meeting hosted by the Summit Hill Lions at the Parkview Inn in Summit Hill. The Coaldale Lions and the Tamaqua Lions will attend this meeting, starting at 6 p.m.
