Schuylkill cyclist dies in collision

A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was killed in a crash that occurred about 2 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of SR3001 (Cressona Road), and SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the victim as Jamie Doyle, 31, of Pottsville.Troopers said Doyle stopped at the intersection on Cressona Road while Charles Rhode, 80, of Pottsville, was eastbound on 901 with Nicholas Domanski, 20, of Sunbury, behind him.Troopers said Doyle pulled out in an attempt to turn west on 901 and pulled into the path of Rhode. Doyle's Honda Rebel bike struck Rhode's Pontiac Bonneville on the front with the front of the bike.Upon impact Doyle was ejected from the bike and struck the windshield of the Bonneville, then landed on the road where Doyle was struck by Domanski's Toyota Corolla.Doyle was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, where Doyle was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 2:50 p.m.Rhode and Domanski were not injured. Troopers said 901 was closed for an hour and a half until the crash scene was cleared. The invesitgation into the crash is continuing, troopers added.
