A wanted fugitive was apprehended by Pocono Mountain Regional police following a routine traffic stop.

According to the Pocono Mountain Regional police report, on March 30, at 1:59 a.m., police conducted a vehicle stop along Route 196 in Mount Pocono for a vehicle code violation.Officers spoke with the driver and passengers of the vehicle. Through further investigation, it was revealed that the passenger, David Mendez, 31, of Tobyhanna, had a bench warrant out of Lackawanna County for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Mendez was detained and released to Scranton Police Department.A search of the vehicle, driven by Jennifer Colon, 25, of Tobyhanna, revealed drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending against Colon through Judge Fluegel's Office.
