Care Net of Tamaqua held its first annual Walk For Life Saturday in Tamaqua. The walk started at their Tamaqua office located at the Tamaqua Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church and continued through the streets of Tamaqua.

Purple balloons tied to parking meters also marked their path.By collecting pledges from sponsors, walkers raised money towards Care Net, a non-profit faith-based network of more than 1,100 pregnancy centers that help women facing unplanned pregnancies. Some of their services that benefit from their walks and other fundraising efforts are free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion information, parenting classes, and material assistance. As an umbrella organization, Care Net seeks to promote, prepare, and plant pregnancy centers across North America. Kevin Roberts stressed his excitement of the opening of Care Net of Tamaqua. He also stated his appreciation to all the Walk For Life volunteers, walkers and sponsors.
