Be a part of Give and Take Day

Earth Day, April 22, was founded by U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson in 1970 and was intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. It grew to become international in 1990.

Give and Take Days are a great way to help a community celebrate the day and help the environment. Give and Take Days reuse items that are too good to throw away, but you just don't have a use for them anymore. There will be a Give and Take Day at the Chestnuthill Township Park, Route 715, Brodheadsville on Saturday, April 16. Bring your good reusable items between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., then take away anything you want from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. It's all free. You don't even have to bring anything to take something.Examples of what you can bring: Furniture, household goods, pots/pans, books, CDs, DVDs, toys, bric-a-brac, bikes, plants, kitchenware, garden tools, quality clothes, etc. Items must be in good shape to be accepted.Examples of things that will not be accepted: Electronics, TVs, computer monitors, tires, etc. (Chestnuthill Twp. residents can take electronics to the township's recycling center at no charge.)You must provide your own vehicle for transporting items.
