A Lehighton man pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault and unlawful retraint in Carbon County court on Tuesday. He was one of 13 defendants in pending cases to enter a guilty plea before Senior Judge Richard W. Webb.

East Penn incidentGeorge Thomas Anger, 48, pleaded to two counts each of indecent assault and unlawful restraint/involuntary servitide, and one of false imprisonment.He was arrested by state police at Lehighton for an incident that occurred on Sept. 19, 2010, in East Penn Township.According to troopers Anger and the victim, identified as a 39-year-old woman from Lehighton, were at a community center. They left the center together with Anger offering to drive her home.At some point Anger deviated from the course to the victim's residence and drove her to a field off S. Dieters Hill Rd., in East Penn Township.Troopers said he then sexually assaulted her and then drove her home.Webb accepted the plea but deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation (PSI). Anger must also undergo both a mental health and sexual offender evaluations.Other pleasOther defendants who entered guilty pleas included:Ryan William Corson, 27, of Sterling, Va., pleaded to one count of indecent assault on a person less than 16. He was arrested by state police at Lehighton for an incident at the Country Inn & Suites in Franklin Township on Feb. 27, 2010.Troopers said Corson met a 15-year-old girl from Carbon County on the internet and began a relationship. He then arranged to meet the girl at the hotel. Troopers responded to the inn and placed him under arrest. The girl was in the room at the hotel with him at the time fo the arrest.Webb sentenced him to serve five to 10 days in jail and gave him credit for 10 days and paroled him.Katelyn M. Atkinson, 20, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count each of persistent disorderly conduct and hindering apprehension, in separate incidents. She was arrested on the conduct charge for an incident Sept. 15, 2009, by Jim Thorpe police at 15 W. Sixth St. The hindering charge was filed for an incident on March 10, 2010, at 74 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe.Webb placed her on probation for six months on each count running concurrently.Jeffrey Evan Fisher, 50, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count each of criminal attempt-theft and criminal trespass. He was arrested on Jan. 10 by Palmerton police for an incident involving the Chestnut Ridge Railroad as the victim. He was charged with steaing copper powerline wiring at a site along Franklin Avenue.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.Kenneth L. Frey, 45, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on Oct. 6, 2010, along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .20BAC.Webb deferred sentencing.Brian Richard Hill, 35, of Coaldale, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested by East Penn Township police for an incident on Nov. 20, 2010, in which Dean Walck is the listed vicitm and taken was a Presidential Dollar coin collection valued at $700.Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render three hours of community service per month while on probation.Lauren Elizabeth Hughes, 24, of Mahanoy City, pleaded to one count of DUI. She was arrested on May 3, 2009, along Main St., in Weatherly. Given a test, the result was .19BAC.Webb placed her on probation for six months and ordered she pay a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation and render three hours of community service per month while on probation.Bruce Michael Meixsell, 20, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on July 13, 2009, at his residence by state police at Lehighton.Webb placed him on probation for a year on the first count and 30 days on the second, running concurrently. He was also ordered to get a D&A evaluation and render three hours of community service per month while on probation.David D. Pierce Jr., 42, of Whitehall, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Aug. 10, 2010, along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township, by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .10BAC.Webb sentenced him to serve 48 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $500, get a D&A evaluation and one year license suspension.He will begin the jail term at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 1.Shane Roger Rex, 22, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possesison of a prohibited offensive weapon. He was arrested on July 13, 2009, in the 100 block of S. Sixth St. He had in his possession a stung gun, Lehighton police said.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.James Cornelius Simmons, 48, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count each of terroristic threats and criminal attempt-simple assault. He was arrested by Franklin Township police for an incident on Jan. 1 involving Sheri Simmons of Fairyland Rd., as the victim. Police said it was a domestic incident.Webb placed him on probation for two years on each count, running concurently, and ordered him to get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance on D&A use, render three hours of community service per month while on probation, and have no abusive behavior or stalking of the victim.Patrick Elliott Walbert, 21, of Danielsville, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested by East Penn Township police for an incident on Oct. 9, 2001, with John and Marianne Lavelle the listed victims. The incident occurred along Reber St.Walbert was charged with removing cast iron radiators from the property owned by the victims.Webb sentenced him to time served (19 days in jail) and paroled him.Richard Alexander Wardell, 45, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of criminal trespass. He was involved in the same incident as Walbart.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.Each defendant sentenced must pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
