Schuylkill driver in Carbon crash

A Schuylkill County driver was injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred in Carbon County. State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred about 4:21 p.m. on Friday, March 25, along SR248 at the Bowmanstown exit in Bowmanstown.

Troopers said Ruth Raymond, of Andreas, was drivng a Toyota Camry westbound when she lost control. The vehicle struck the concrete divider.Raymond was injured and transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salsibury Township, for treatment. Assisting troopers at the scene were Palmerton and Franklin Township police and volunteers from the Parryville Fire Company and Palmerton ambulance.Troopers also reported investigating a crash about 6:51 a.m. on March 24 along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Richard Hyer, 66, of Slatington, was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus northbound when he lost control due to icy conditions. The car spun around and came to rest on its roof in a small stream off the right side of the road.Hyer was not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
