State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers recently.

On Thursday, March 24, about 5:55 p.m. troopers stopped Antonio Richard August Jr., 25, of Palmerton, along Mill Road at the intersection with Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation.At the stop August was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI.On Sunday, March 27, about 6:27 p.m. troopers stopped Regina Messinger, 49, of Palmerton, along Little Gap Road near Harris Lane, in Lower Towamensing Township, for several motor vehicle code violations. She was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. Troopers said the DUI charge is pending blood test results.
