Coaldale man gets state prison term on DUI charge

A Coaldale man drew a state prison sentence on a driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol charge. He was among 17 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in the Schuylkill County court.

George Robert Skidmore Jr., 50, of 418 E. Water St., was sentenced to serve one to five years in state correctional institution with the sentence to be effective Wednesday, March 30, at noon. He also will pay a fine of $2,500, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $200 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) and when released on parole must attend the alcohol highway safety school and receive outpatient substance abuse treatment and pay for the costs and his driving privileges are suspended 18 months.On a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended-DUI related, was fined $2,500 plus $50 costs and serve six additional months in prison. Skidmore was cited by Rush Township Patrolman Jonathan McHugh.Russell James Gernert IV, 30. of 38 Schuylkill Road, New Ringgold, on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle owned by Cathy Jo Rausch, 2161 Summer Valley Road, East Brunswick Township, filed by Trooper Arthur Wink, was given credit for serving 47 days in the county prison and released on parole for 12 months. On a charge of giving false information to Chief Joseph J. Leskin, Blythe Township police, when stopped on Mountain Valley Road, was given a concurrent sentence.He was also cited by Chief Leskin for driving while his operating privileges were suspended and was fined $200 plus $50 costs. He also must pay $100 to CJEA.Jeffrey Thomas Leinheiser, 19, of 165 Water St., New Philadelphia, on two counts of theft by unlawful taking of personal property of Diane Sisko and Barbara Young, was sentenced to serve three to 12 months in the county prison and pay $50 to CJEA. He must make restitution of $103 to Sisko and $33 to Young.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia at the Christmas Pines Camp in West Brunswick Township was sentenced to serve 12 months on probation to begin at the expiration of his first sentence, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He was cited on all charges by Trooper Michael Allar.Clyde Alvin Eichert, 55, Pottsville, on five burglary charges was sentenced to serve six to 12 years in a state correctional institution with credit for spending 169 days in the county prison. He also must pay $150 to CJEA. He received concurrent sentences on five theft charges.He was cited by Pottsville Capt. Richard Wojciechowsky. He must make restitution for burglary of a business place at 615 N. Seventh St., owned by James Tokinitz and Heidi Reichert, of $140.25 and for burglary of the private home of Danielle Bruner and Stephen Leganza, at 605 N. Seventh St., restitution of $2,415.Ryan Michael Boria, 22, Temple, Berks County, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in Pottsville was placed on probation for 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. The sentence is to run concurrent with a sentence imposed by Berks County court. Boria was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Richard J. Pugh.Albert P. Chiscavage, 37, Frackville, on a charge of criminal mischief to property at 40 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, owned by Mary Rabbits housing Alexandria's Salon, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $626.33 to Mary Rabbits. Chiscavage was cited by Frackville Cpl. Marvin Livergood.Luis Angel Diaz, 62, Pottsville, on a charge of aggravated assault on a police officer was sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution and pay $50 to CJEA. Diaz was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Kirk Becker, for assaulting fellow officer, Keith Wittig.Philip J. Gibble, 41, Girardville, on a charge of being involved in a two car accident in Girardville was sentenced to serve 10 days to 12 months in the county prison and make restitution of $3,031 to State Farm Insurance Company and $500 to Diann Mazack for damage to her vehicle. On a charge of failing to operate his vehicle in a safe manner was fined $25 plus $50 costs. He also must pay $50 to CJEA.Carlos Gonzalez-Soto, Reading, on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (CS) in the Pottsville low income housing area was sentenced to serve three to six years in a state correctional institution with credit for spending 327 days in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA and $176.09 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. On a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana he received a 30 days concurrent probation sentence. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene Yourey.Emilio S. Jack, 20, Pottsvile, on a charge of resisting arrest was placed on probation for six months and pay $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene M. He was cited by Frackville Chief Michelle Ashman. On a charge of possession with intent to deliver a CS was sentenced to serve 4 1/2 to 9 months to begin at the expiration of the first sentence. On a second intent to deliver illegal drugs drew a concurrent sentence and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was sentenced to serve one to 12 months to run concurrent.He also must pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and $365 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Woodford, 38, Minersville, on three cases was sentenced to serve a total of four to eight years in a state correctional institution plus two years of additional probation. On a charge of aggravated assault on Charles Kull, Minersville, he was sentenced to serve four to eight years and on a charge of possession an instrument of crime to serve an additional two years probation.On a charge of DUI he received a sentence of one to five years to run concurrent with the imposed sentence and on a charge of simple assault on David Dutcavich to serve six to 24 months to run concurrent to the sentence imposed.He also must make restitution of $24,171,79 to injured parties, pay a fine of $2,500 on the DUI charge and pay $200 to the Catastrophe fund, $300 to SAE fund and $150 to CJEA. He was cited by Minersville police.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
